Biography

A celebration of the life of Harold A. Norsen of Wexford Way, Port Orange, Florida,  who went home to be with the Lord on Friday, May 6, 2005, will be 1:30 PM on Wednesday, May 11, 2005 at Volusia Memorial Funeral Home, 4815 Clyde Morris Blvd., Port Orange.

Mr. Norsen was born April 18, 1924 to William and Florence (nee' DePauw) Norsen of Newark, N.Y. He proudly served his country during WW II as a sergeant in the U.S. Air Force. He worked for the U.S. Postal Service for over 30 years and retired in January 1981 and after he retired he moved with his wife Elsie to Florida. He was a lifelong animal lover. Mr. Norsen was a lifetime member of the VFW.
Left to fondly cherish his memory are his wife Elsie (nee' Hermenet) of nearly 59 years; daughter, Linda (John) Pickering of Mendon, N.Y.; son, Terry (Dottie) of Victor, N.Y.; four grandchildren, Michael (Caren) Pickering of Portland, OR, Brian (Jill) Pickering of Peterborough, N. H., Dottie Beth (Jason) Augustine of Farmington, N.Y. and Mandy Norsen of Rochester, N.Y.; three great grandchildren, Owen, Lily, and Cadence; brother, Richard of Newark, N.Y.; step sister, Irene Cottrell of Waterloo, N.Y.; a host of nieces and nephews, cousins and other relatives and sorrowing friends.

Arrangements are also being made for a memorial service in Newark during the first week in July. Contributions may be made in memory of Harold A.
