Levi Hoy, son of George and Susannah (Stump) Hoy, was born March 5, 1826
in Pennsylvania and came to Ohio, when one year old. He married Mary
Greenwalt, and they were members of the Methodist Church. He served in
the Army of the Civil War (Union) and was a Fifer. He was a farmer and
carried U. S. Mail from and to Houcktown and Beagle Station in
Jackson Township in Hancock County, Ohio. His first 3 children were by
his first marriage, and 3 more by his 2nd marriage to Mary Thompkins.
His 3rd marriage was to Sarah Sheets. Levi died in January 1907 and
is resting beside his first wife, Mary Greenwalt in the Houcktown Cemetery.
