Obituary

 

Mrs. Minnie Rohrs, died Tuesday, December 12, 1905

at the home of her son, Henry R. Rohrs on Haly Avenue,

aged 80 years, 4 months and 29 days.

 

Funeral Services were held from the residence on Friday afternoon at 1:00 o'clock, and Emanuel Lutheran church at 1:30 o'clock, Rev. Wuebben officiating.

 

Mrs. Maria Rohrs, nee Schroeder, was born July 13th, 1825, in Jeddigen, damaligen Konigreich, Hanover, Germany. She was married to John Rohrs in July 1846, and to this union 4 sons and 6 daughters were born. The family emigrated to this country July 13th, 1858, and settled in Napoleon township, Henry county, on August 5th, 1870, the husband and father passed away, and four years later, the mother with her son moved to Nebraska. Here she resided until December 22nd, 1886, when she returned, together with her daughter Emma, to make her home with her eldest son Henry R. Rohrs, with whom she lived till the time of her death. She left to mourn three sons, John H. Rohrs and Fred Rohrs, of Nebraska, and Henry R. Rohrs, of Napoleon, three daughters, Mrs. Will Ehlers, of Nebraska, and Mrs. William Carstens and Emma Rohrs, of Napoleon, 58 grandchildren and whom 49 are living, and 20 great-grandchildren.
