Last Saturday "Alfalfa John" shipped

a carload of alfalfa seed from

his place to Sioux City, Iowa, valued

at $3,000. With 30 cent corn, alfalfa

at $7 per bushel, is in proportion, for

about two years ago Mr. Franklin

'bought seventy-five bushels of alfalfa

from J. N. Anderson, paying him

$1,500,or $20per bushel. Ora Bodwell,

at Lebanon, averaged 9 bushels of alfalfa

to the1 acre this year,-which made

about $63 per acre.
