What a great web site! I believe you have more information on the Kansas side of the Eltiste's than I do. I have been gradually updating my Family Tree Maker file over a number of years with more attention recently paid to my mother's side, the Merkleins, than to the Eltiste's
My intention has been to put up a web site, but obviously have not.
You put my efforts to shame! I do have over 1500 names on my file, with many being the Merklein side.
My brothers and myself and families will be returning to KS in mid-April for our mother's 90th birthday. I will be flying into Kearney via Denver from Simi Valley, CA where we reside.

When this was E-Mailed To Me From Gloria Durman I thought, It was worth Posting
While on a road trip, an elderly couple stopped at a roadside restaurant
for lunch. After finishing their meal, they left the restaurant and
resumed their trip.
When leaving, the elderly woman unknowingly left her glasses on the
table. And, she didn't miss them until after they had been driving about
twenty minutes.
By then, to add to the aggravation, they had to travel quite a distance
before they could find a place to turn around in order to return to the
restaurant to retrieve her glasses.
All the way back, the elderly husband became the classic grouchy old
man. He fussed and complained and scolded his wife relentlessly during
the entire return drive. The more he chided her, the more agitated he
became. He just wouldn't let up one minute.
To her relief, they finally arrived at the restaurant. And as the woman
got out of the car and hurried inside to retrieve her glasses, the old
geezer yelled to her,.......
"While you're in there, you might as well get my hat."

Hi John!
I just wanted to let you know I think you've done a fantastic job with the web
page. It is very creative, informative and easy to navigate. I especially like
the textured effects of the background photos. I can only imagine the number of
hours you have committed to this project.
