Donald D. Hartzell

 

 

WAKARUSA - Donald Devoe Hartzell, 86, of Miller's Merry Manor,

died at 9:30 p.m., Monday, September 5, 2005.

 

He was born March 3, 1919, in Etna Green, to William M. and Ida  (Jones) Hartzell. On May 7, 1941, in Bourbon, he married Wilma W. Shively. who preceded him in death on October 22, 2002.

 

Surviving are two daughters, Charlene (Wayne) Anglemyer and

Donita (Mike) Hollar, both of Nappanee;

three sons, James (Linda) Hartzell of Wakarusa,

Denny (Molly) Hartzell and Doug (Joy) Hartzell, both of Nappanee;

nine grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

 

He was also preceded in death by two brothers,

Gerald and Dallas Hartzell.

Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m., Thursday at

Thompson-Lengacher and Yoder Funeral Home, 950 N. Main St.,

Nappanee, where services will be at 10:30 a. m., Friday.

Burial will be in Stony Point Cemetery, Nappanee.

 

Mr. Hartzell attended Nappanee Missionary Church. In 1981, he

retired from CTS Corp., Elkhart, after 29 years of service.

He had worked at the Ira Hartzler Body Shop in Nappanee.

He also owned and operated the Millwood Body Shop.

He was a member of the Quarter Century Club at CTS.

Mr. Hartzell graduated from Etna Green High School in 1936.

Memorials may be given to Center for Hospice and Palliative Care

on Alzheimer's Association.
