PASSING OF MRS. HARMS MOURNED BY MANY

Good Woman Was Called

To Her Reward Last Sunday

She had Lived In This County Since 1874 and Was Widely Known and Highly Regarded - Funeral Held From Family Home Tuesday Afternoon
Mrs. Conrad Harms died at her home west of this city on last Sunday and the news of her demise was received with profound sorrow by many friends who knew her as an excellent woman and one whom they held in the very highest of respect and esteem.
Wilhelmina Volkmann was born in Laage Meckinberg, Germany, May 26, 1854.  She came to this country with her parents in 1873 and a year later, or on April 4, 1874, she was married in this county to Mr. Conrad Harms. During all the years that have intervened since that time she has been a resident of this county. Her circle of acquaintanceship continued to grow wider and wider and whenever it was extended she became known as a Christian woman who by her example and by her daily life was worthy of the highest regard.
The deceased was the mother of seven children, four of whom are living. They are Fritz Harms, Miss Freda Harms, Mrs. Elsa Schlange and Karl Harms, all of whom are well known residents of this county and who share in the sympathy that friends extend to the bereaved family. She also leaves one brother and one sister who live in Germany.
The funeral was held on Tuesday afternoon from the family home three miles west of Auburn. The solemn services were conducted by Reverend Strend in the presence of a large number of sorrowing friends of the family who felt a sense of personal loss in the death of this good woman. After the services the remains were taken to Hickory Grove cemetery for interment.
