Baby Drowns in Lily Pool
Little Daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel A. Johnson Loses Life Saturday: Funeral Sunday
Ruth Johnson, little daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel A. Johnson, lost her life Saturday afternoon when she fell into a lily pool in the yard at the Johnson home on Main street. The body was found about four o'clock by one of the older children. Efforts to revive the baby failed. Dr. J. E. Davis who was summoned to the home was of the opinion that the child's death was due largely to exposure. Ruth Margaret Johnson was born December 25, 1932 and died at the home of her parents, November 11, 1933, at the age of 1 year, 10 months and 17 days. She leaves to mourn her departure her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Samuel A. Johnson, seven brothers, five half-brothers and three sisters. Funeral services were held from the Christians chapel Sunday afternoon at 2:30 p.m., F. S. Spaulding officiating. Interment was in Rose Hill cemetery.
