Obituary

William F. Eltiste

William F. Eltiste was born in Nemaha County on November 19, 1886, son of Frederick and Marie Barbara Eltiste, and passed away at a local hospital on January 29, 1963, aged 76 years, two months and 10 days.

He received his early education at school district No. 26, south of Johnson. He was confirmed at Hickory Grove Church by Rev. Theodore Streng in 1899.

In 1908 he moved to Overton where he engaged in farming until his retirement in 1954. Since that time he had made his home with his brother, Herman A. Eltiste, of Auburn, most of the time.

Since his retirement he has traveled extensively, this being one of his main hobbies.

Besides his brother, Herman, he is survived by a brother, Paul of Sumner; three sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Bohling of Auburn, Mrs. Sophia Kaiser of Phillipsburg, Kansas, and Mrs. Minnie Wingert of Sumner, many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held February 1 at the May and Timm chapel in Auburn, conducted by Rev. C. H. Goede. Mrs. Allister Behrends was soloist, accompanied by Alvin Stover at the organ.

Pallbearers were Paul Kaiser, Henry Kaiser, Kiel Eltiste, Dale Eltiste, Kenneth Eltiste and Vernon Eltiste. Mrs. Emil Rogge and Mrs. D. J. Remmers were in charge of flowers.

Burial was in Sheridan cemetery.
