Obituary - Leonard Fink

Leonard Fink son of Gottlieb and Eva Margaretha Fink was born September 19, 1862 near Dubuque, Iowa.  He was baptized and confirmed in the German Reformed Church.

In 1885 he came to Phillips County, Kansas, and homesteaded near Stuttgart.  On April 25, 1890, he was united in Marriage with Miss Babette Glock at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Stuttgart, Kansas.  To this union were born six children, 3 boys and 3 girls, all of which are still living.

In 1899, he moved with his family to a farm northeast of Logan.  He he lived until the fall of 1946 at which time he retired from the farm.  Mrs. Fink Died, December 20, 1937.  For nine years Mr. Fink lived by himself.  Since 1946 he lived with his children - most of the time with his daughter Mrs. W. L. Boethin.

Due to an accident 59 years ago, Mr. Fink became partially blind.  In later years he became totally blind.  Otherwise he enjoyed good health all his life.  He recently suffered a stroke and passed away at the home of his daughter, Mrs. W. L. Boethin on March 25 at the age of 87 years, 6 months and 7 days. When he passed away he was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church of Logan.

He is survived by his six children who are according to age: Mrs. Maggie Kaiser, Phillipsburg, Kansas,  Mrs. Margie Boethin, Logan, Kansas, Nick Fink, Logan, Kansas Mrs. Eva Kaiser, Phillipsburg, Kansas, William Fink, Hastings, Nebraska, Edward Fink, Agra, Kansas, also by 19 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren

Funeral services were conducted on March 29 at St. Peter Lutheran Church, Logan, Kansas with Pastor Herbert J Schauer of Stuttgart in charge.  Interment was made in the cemetery of Saint Peter Lutheran Church
