For 25 Years

Dies Sunday

William John Fink, 68, a retired carpenter and a resident of Hastings for the past 25 years, died Sunday at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital. He was a native of Logan, Kansas. 

He is survived by his wife, Augusta; a son, William L.; a daughter, Mrs. Lester Oelschlager; four grandchildren; two brothers, Nick of Logan, Kansas and Edward of Agra, Kansas and three sisters, Mrs. Herman Kaiser of Stuttgart, Kansas, and Mrs. John Kaiser of Phillipsburg, Kansas and Mrs. William Boethin of Logan, Kansas.

Services will be held Tuesday at 2 p. m. at First St. Paul’s Lutheran Church with the Rev. Theodore Johnson officiating. The family suggests that memorial gifts may be given to First St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Hastings. Burial will be in Parkview cemetery.

The Brand-Wilson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Augusta Fink

Augusta E. Fink, age 86, passed away September 15, 1985 in Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital, Hastings, Nebraska.

Augusta was born October 25, 1898 in Bremen, Kansas (Hanover) to August and Alvina Jasch Dusin. She was baptized on November 13, 1898 and was confirmed on March 16, 1913 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church near Hanover, Kansas.

The family moved to Phillips County, Kansas when she was a young girl, and where she met William J. Fink. They were married October 19, 1921 at Alma, Nebraska. Three children were

 born to this union.

The family resided in Phillips County, Kansas, until 1942 when they moved to Hastings, Nebraska where she resided until her death. She was a member of  First St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Hastings. When health restricted her from attending, she worshipped beside her radio each Sunday morning.

Survivors include her daughter and husband, LaVergne and Lester Oelschlager, Blue Hill, Nebraska; and her son, William L. and wife, Mary Ann of Hershey, Pennsylvania; grandchildren, Dennis and Doris Oelschlager of Malcolm, Nebraska, Steve and Darlene Oelschlager of Columbus, Nebraska, Staff Sgt. Roxie Lea Jones and husband Staff Sgt. Robert Jones of Scott Air Force Base, Illinois, and Jackie Marie Fink of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania; two great-granddaughters, Michelle and Jessica; two brothers, August Dusin, Washington, Kansas and Adolph Dusin of Ottawa, Kansas; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Interment was in Park View Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska, September 19, 1985 to await the resurrection.

Augusta Fink

Augusta E. Fink, 96 of 845 Webster Ave, died Sunday in Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital. Services will be Thursday at 11 a. m. in the Butler-Volland Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Leland Soker officiating.

Mrs. Fink was born October 25, 1898, at Hanover, Kansas. She married William L. Fink. They moved to Hastings in 1943. Mr. Fink died in 1967.

She was a member of First St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.

Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Lester (LaVergne) Oelschlager of Blue Hill; one son, William L. of Hershey, Pennsylvania; two brothers, August Dusin of Washington, Kansas; four grandchildren; and two great-granddaughters.

Memorials may be given to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church Radio Ministry.
