Six Draftees Honored

Erwin Kaiser entertained six of his chums who are to leave for the armed forces Thursday with a card party at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Kaiser Monday evening.  A very enjoyable evening was spent, and refreshments were served during the evening.

The honored guests were Gerrit Jansonius, Edward Howard, Melvin Kelly, Ehrhard Krafft, Walter Freibus and Walter Merklein.  In addition to the honored guests, others included: Mr. and Mrs. William Jansonius and family, Elsie Jansonius, Clara Bohl, Henry Weinman, Henry and Karoline Kolb, Mrs. Gerrit Jansonius, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Kaiser and Erwin. At a late hour, all departed wishing the boys good luck and God Speed.

Kaiser Elected Member of Advisory Council

Erwin Kaiser, president of the Phillipsburg Co-op Association, was elected to the advisory council of the Wichita Bank of Cooperatives at the annual meeting of the Bank last week.

Mr. Kaiser will represent a 6-county area in the north central section of Kansas in an advisory capacity in determining bank policies, procedures, planning, etc.

At the Wichita meeting, 489 borrowers from the bank learned that their bank had one of the most successful years in history with savings for the year of

 $1, 272,805. 60 and total outstanding loans of

over 72 million dollars.

Savings of the bank was allocated back to the cooperative borrowers.

Attending the meeting from Phillipsburg were Mr. Kaiser and his wife,Clara, Judy and Shirley Bohl

 and Walter Losev.

Erwin A. Kaiser

PHILLIPSBURG - Erwin A. Kaiser, 83, Phillipsburg, died Saturday, November 24, 2001.

Mr. Kaiser was born Aug. 16, 1918, at rural Phillips County. He was a farmer.

Survivors include his wife, Clara L. of Phillipsburg; a brother, Harold of Phillipsburg; and a sister, Erma Jansonius of Phillipsburg.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Emmanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church, Stuttgart. Burial will be in Emmanuel Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Emmanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church or the Emmanuel Evangelical Lutheran Parsonage.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today and Tuesday at Olliff-Boeve Memorial Chapel, 1115 N. Second, Phillipsburg 67661.

PHILLIPS COUNTY -- Clara L. Kaiser, 85, Phillips County, died Sunday, Dec. 28, 2003.

Mrs. Kaiser was born Clara L. Bohl on Oct. 17, 1918, in Phillips County. She was a homemaker.

Her husband, Erwin, died in 2001.

Survivors include a brother, Ralph Bohl of Phillipsburg.

Clara's Father Conrad John Bohl was Born December 10, 1889 Married on April 2, 1913 to Lena S. (Carsten) Bohl who was Born August 30, 1891.  Clara's Mother passed away April 9, 1967

The funeral will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday at Emmanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church, Stuttgart. Burial will be in Emmanuel Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the church or the church's parsonage fund.

Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. today, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday and 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Olliff-Boeve Memorial Chapel, 1115 Second, Phillipsburg 67661, and from noon to until the service Friday at the church
