Funeral Services For
Mrs. Minnie Adcock

 

Mrs. Minnie Adcock, age 80, passed away in an Auburn

hospital Friday, August 26th. Formerly, Mrs. Adcock had

lived in both the Brock and Peru communities and at the

time of her death was living in Auburn.

Surviving are sons Charles of Kearney, Lester Clarence of  Brock,

Elmer of Auburn, Harold of Brock, Marion of Falls City

and Ralph of Fremont.

Funeral Services were held at the Casey funeral home in

Auburn, Monday, August 29, at 2:00 p.m., with

Reverend Ward Merritt officiating.

Interment in the Tecumseh cemetery.

 MINNIE JANE Adcock

 

Minnie Jane Combs daughter of Jackson and Julia Combs was

born September 23, 1874 near Corning, Missouri. In infancy she

moved with her parents to Nemaha county and with the

exception of a few years spent in northern and western part of

the state, this county has been her home. She attended rural

school of the county and two years at the Peru Normal.

At the age of 14 she was baptized in the Methodist church in Peru.

On December 23, 1897 she was united in marriage to

Joseph Lee Adcock at her home near Peru.

 Mr. Adcock passed away in 1948.

She was the mother of eleven children. Two passed away in infancy

and Cecil, Vernon and Helen passed away after reaching maturity.

Surviving sons are Charles of Kearney, Lester Clarence of Brock,

Elmer of Auburn, Harold of Brock, Marion of Falls City

and Ralph of Fremont.

Other survivors are 17 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren,

two step-children, Mrs. Lula Arnold of San Francisco and

Joe Adcock of Nebraska City. Three brothers, Homer Combs of

Auburn, Neal of Hastings and Elmer of Arcadia, Nebraska.

One sister, Mrs. Clarence Davis of Cortez, Colorado, many

nieces and nephews, a number of other relatives

and a host of friends.

Funeral services were held Monday, August 29, at the

Casey Funeral Home in Auburn at 2:00 p.m., with

Rev. Ward Merritt officiating.

Pallbearers were Woodford Butterfield, Dean Walker Jr.,

Wesley Clark, Edmond Lambelet, Robert Erisman and

Steve Flack.

Interment was in the Tecumseh cemetery. Casey Funeral Home

in charge of funeral arrangements.
